Capture incredible photos, connect with your neighbours and take home a newfound appreciation for the natural beauty of Sunbury and your community on a Redstone Hill guided walking tour.
Villawood’s Redstone monthly guided walking tours take in Redstone Hill’s significant heritage, landscape and biodiversity landmarks, get the adrenaline pumping and offer the chance to spot wedge-tailed eagles, falcons, king parrots, and even the occasional wallaby or kangaroo.
The three-kilometre walking tours begin at Redstone’s Northvale Park and head uphill for 1.5 kilometres through newly developed streets and lush farmland. Bring the camera for stunning views of the Melbourne city skyline and the impressive Sunbury escarpment.
At this point you can extend your walk by 1.5 kilometres downhill to Jacksons Creek to savour the peace and quiet.
Walk back up the hill and meet the rest of the crew for the walk back to Northvale Park. Uphill and a little more strenuous, this part of the hike is both invigorating and rewarding.
Return to Northvale Park and toast your achievement with a cuppa or a cold drink, as well as snacks to refuel.
With walks held on the second Sunday of each month (weather dependant), you’ll be surprised by the observations you make each time and the regular walkers who become friends.
